About
Spokane Area Jewish Family Services
Non-Profit Business
Spokane Area Jewish Family Services offers programs and services that incorporate Jewish values and the tradition of helping people help themselves. SAJFS primarily serves senior citizens, low-income individuals, and clients with disabilities. Specific efforts include home, hospital, and hospice visits (very limited during pandemic); reassurance phone calls; rent, utility, and food assistance (including delivery of nonperishable food); transportation for essential medical appointments; and client consultations, advocacy, and referrals to appropriate local resources. The agency also provides educational and cultural programming that is open to the broader Spokane community. Programs include the annual Jewish Cultural Film Festival (virtual in 2021) as well as monthly luncheons (currently virtual programs) intended for seniors but open to all. SAJFS envisions an Inland Northwest where every individual and family has a strong support system and every senior thrives.
