Spathiphyllum 'Picasso'

Actual Botanical

Spathiphyllum is a genus of flowering aroids from S.E. Asia and Central America, commonly referred to as peace lilies. They feature beautiful, large leaves and remarkable flowers. They do best in indirect light and are known for their ability to thrive in relatively low-light conditions. In nature, they tend to grow in areas with poor soil nutrition (the rainforest floor), so their fertilizer needs are almost non-existent. In fact, it is an easy plant to burn with fertilizer, so be sure to dilute well. They tend to be sensitive to chemicals like chlorine in drinking water, so we recommend leaving an open container of water on the counter overnight to let the chlorine dissipate, and watering in the morning (or else using distilled water). Their chemical sensitivity is hardly a deterrent, though: it's also a testament to how low-maintenance they are since too much love is the easiest way to kill these beautiful plants. 'Picasso' is a boldly variegated spathiphyllum featuring patches of cream/white and two shades of green. New to the houseplant market, the 'Picasso' is very rare and highly-sought by aroid collectors.
