Beaded Fan Earrings - Amy Mickelson

Spokane Art School

Beads Sizes vary Amy Mickelson, is a jewelry designer who works with colorful glass beads, powder coated metal and upcycled materials. “I have an innate sense of color and am known for creating jewelry in interesting and pleasing color combinations. I am intrigued by the endless possibilities of color combinations that working with glass beads allows. Much of my time in the design process is spent choosing colors. I combine colorful glass beads in various intricate patterns and designs to create jewelry. Much of my work uses sculptural and off-loom weaving techniques.” After many years in the world of engineering, energy and environmental conservation, Amy left the left-brain world to launch her own jewelry design business, and work in the sales and marketing departments at Rings and Things, a Spokane based supplier of jewelry making components. She has served on boards of various visual arts groups in Spokane including Inland Crafts, and Art Salvage. For over 20 years Amy has sold her work regionally at various art shows and galleries. Through her volunteer work with Art Salvage, Amy has taught a variety of jewelry classes using upcycled materials. In 2020, her work has been included in several issues of Belle Armoire Jewelry magazine. Amy can be reached at strung@ideamakers.com
